Southern Ethiopia Regional Trade and Industry Bureau: Summary of Panel Discussion on Fostering Entrepreneurship, Arba Minch Ethiopia

As part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week celebration, a panel discussion was held featuring leaders from the Southern Ethiopia Regional Trade and Industry Bureau and the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) Ethiopia. Key participants included Miss Senit Solomon and Dr. Getnet Begashaw from the Southern Ethiopia Regional Trade and Industry Bureau, along with Ms. Muluwork Bekele and Mr. Mitiku Dejen from the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) Ethiopia, who moderated the session. The discussion focused on initiatives to support the business ecosystem, highlighting the Bureau's efforts in facilitating entrepreneurship through improved market access and the implementation of the "One-Stop-Shop" for streamlined business registration, as well as government incentives for manufacturing. The Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) emphasized capacity-building through startup training and networking opportunities, particularly for women and youth to combat unemployment. The session concluded with a strong message on the importance of collaboration between organizations, despite challenges in funding and technology access, to empower entrepreneurs for sustainable economic development in Southern Ethiopia.
