The Women Entrepreneurship WET) Training session conducted in Wacha City

The Women’s Entrepreneurship Training (WET) session, conducted in Wacha City, Southwest Ethiopia, from November 18–19, 2024, was a vital initiative aimed at empowering vulnerable women entrepreneurs in the region. Originally planned for 50 participants, 48 completed the two-day training, demonstrating strong commitment to personal and professional growth.

The participants were primarily small business owners, engaged in activities such as selling ready-made clothes, running restaurants, and providing “Baltina” services. Only two attendees had yet to establish their own businesses.

The primary goal of the session was to foster entrepreneurial behavior among participants and introduce them to the competencies required for success in their ventures.

The training covered all 10 entrepreneurial competencies and their corresponding 30 behaviors, offering comprehensive discussions. Facilitators shared relevant experiences, practical examples, and motivational quotes to help participants reflect on and relate to the concepts. This interactive approach encouraged active participation and meaningful insights.

The session concluded with notable behavioral transformations among the participants, highlighting the training’s effectiveness in equipping women entrepreneurs with the skills and mindset needed for sustainable success.
