Farming as a Business (FaaB) Training at 20 centers of Oromia region

We are thrilled to announce that we have successfully completed Farming as a Business Training at 20 centers of the region in two rounds in a total of 260 sessions for model farmers drawn from different corners of the region. The training was designed to equip farmers with essential entrepreneurial competencies and behaviors to enhance productivity. This program received outstanding coordination support from all concerned bodies and both rounds’ training sessions were started and concluded by the opening and closure ceremony where the zonal, town level as well as regional bureaus representatives have taken part by introducing the key support packages that the Government do have for the training participants. The commitment of the stakeholders and all concerned bodies starting from its planning to its implementation was really amazing. 

Feedback and Participant Reactions: 

Farmer trainees expressed high levels of satisfaction with the program, praising the relevance and accessibility of the materials presented. They valued the emphasis on business examples and other relevant experiences shared, the focus on the behaviors and competencies of successful entrepreneurs, and taking personal responsibility. The deep sense of connection and respect fostered between trainers and trainees created a supportive environment that encouraged active participation and learning. Many farmers noted the immediate applicability of the skills acquired, expressing optimism about using these new insights in their farming practices. 

Key points raised include the following among others:

Participants appreciated the practical approach of the training, noting that the content was directly applicable to their farming practices.
The participants expressed confidence in using the acquired new skills.
The trainers' approachable style and respect for the trainees helped build a positive and encouraging learning environment.
Many of them voiced their optimism about increasing productivity and profitability after implementing what the learned during the training.
They appreciated the trainers’ commitment, as well as the supportive presence of local authorities, which reinforced the program’s importance.
Trainees suggested that more follow-up sessions or additional resources would be helpful to further solidify their learning.
They claim that the training is eye opening and is highly motivational which everyone enjoyed.
hey suggested that everyone engaged in any sector has to get access to such training. 
One of the trainees said " It is just rebirth for me as this training is really game changing" he also added that the way the training is organized and coordinated is amazing.
 Other participant said that he had exposure to different kinds of training in the past but this training is unique and is highly beneficial. He added that he will implement each and every point he got in the training room in his business practically.
