Farming as a Business Training was delivered at Shashemene

In order to ensure the inclusion of the displaced community in our services, Farming as a Business Training was delivered at Shashemene town for a total of 757 farmers who were displaced due to Mojo-Hawassa Highway Construction Project. The training at Shashemene was delivered for 386 farmers at Firamont Hotel, Shashemene town, Oromia Region, Ethiopia. 

Testimony 1:
A participant shared a heartfelt regret during the session:
"The government provided me with three million birr. Out of that, I gave one million to my son, bought an old car with another portion, and spent five hundred thousand birr on a lavish wedding for my daughter, whom I love dearly. However, the car soon became a liability, constantly needing repairs. I poured all my remaining money into fixing it until it fell into a large ditch. I ended up selling it for just one hundred thousand birr. If I had received this training earlier, I would have understood how to manage my money wisely.
Today, I’ve learned that with just ten thousand birr, I could have completely transformed my life, and hereafter am confident to say that I can! Thank you, EDI and your team, for showing us the path to financial and entrepreneurial wisdom."

Testimony 2:
Another participant shared their thoughts, reflecting on missed opportunities:
"It would have been transformative if we had received this training earlier. As the Oromo proverb says, ‘The dog barks after the hyena has passed.’ What good is this knowledge after we’ve already wasted the resources given to us? As another saying goes, ‘One cannot drink from water that has already flowed past.’’
That said, we have learned an invaluable lesson today: to take personal responsibility for our actions. You have taught us to embrace accountability and adopt the ten competencies of successful entrepreneurs. From now on, we are determined to change and start anew.
