GEW-2024: EDI Empowers Women Entrepreneurs in Shire

In line with the Global Cooperative Conference theme, "Cooperatives Build Prosperity for All," and the Global Entrepreneurship Week theme, "Entrepreneurship is for All," the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) recently conducted a comprehensive entrepreneurship training program for women members of the Fana Youth Saving and Credit Cooperative in Shire.
The training focused on equipping participants with essential entrepreneurial skills, enabling them to effectively manage their businesses, increase savings, and repay loans promptly.
Mr. Gebrehiwet Girmay, Manager of the Fana Youth Saving and Credit Cooperative's Shire branch, expressed gratitude to EDI for organizing this valuable training. He emphasized that the training will not only enhance the entrepreneurial skills of the members but also strengthen the cooperative's financial capacity and increase its access to funding.
"This initiative will promote a culture of saving and work ethic among women," Mr. Gebrehiwet stated, highlighting the broader impact of the training on both the cooperative and its members.
As the Global Cooperative Conference and Global Entrepreneurship Week continue, EDI remains dedicated to empowering women and fostering entrepreneurship, contributing to the economic development of the community and building a prosperous future for all
