GEW-2024: Empowering Women Entrepreneurs in Shire, Tigray
The Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) is making strides in empowering women entrepreneurs in Shire, Ethiopia, as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week #GEW2024Ethiopia celebrations.
A two-day training program, initiated on November 9th, is specifically designed for 170 women business owners in the region. This initiative aims to equip participants with crucial entrepreneurial skills and knowledge to bolster their businesses. Miss Miliete Birhane, Chairwoman of the Shire City Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the importance of women's empowerment, stating, "Empowering women is empowering a nation." She expressed gratitude to EDI for this initiative and urged for expanded efforts to support women entrepreneurs.
This event signifies a pivotal moment in fostering entrepreneurship and empowering women in Shire. By providing essential training and support, EDI is contributing to the economic growth and development of the community.
