The Global Entrepreneurship Week #GEW2024Ethiopia was celebrated on 20th of November 2024 at Negelle Borana Polytechnic College, Negelle Borana town, East Borana Zone, Oromia region, Ethiopia, highlighting the significant role of entrepreneurs in driving sustainable economic growth based on local resources. The celebration commenced at the Negelle Borana TVT College, attended by high-ranking government officials and successful entrepreneurs. Key note speech on the event by Ms. Bunjure Gennale, the representative from the Zonal Job Creation Bureau, stressed the importance of prioritizing economic development in the region by promoting entrepreneurship. Furthermore, she mentioned the urge to substantial efforts to increase the number of successful entrepreneurs within the area. On this event, the local government, represented by Mr. Wariyo Golicha, discussed ongoing collaborations with various stakeholders aimed at overcoming challenges related to financial access and market development for entrepreneurs.

The event included discussions between local entrepreneurs and 512 graduates of Technical Vocational Training (TVT), focusing on how these graduates can utilize their experiences and training to start their own businesses. Participants expressed enthusiasm about applying the knowledge acquired during their training to launch personal ventures.
