Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) Ethiopia 2024 Continues with Focus on Startup Challenges and Opportunities at EDI Headquarters

Today, the celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) Ethiopia continued with a series of events focusing on challenges and opportunities for community development within the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The event, organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) in collaboration with Orbit Innovation Hub, took place at the EDI Headquarters.

In his opening speech, Dr. Hassen Hussen, CEO of EDI, emphasized the importance of nurturing startups to foster innovation and growth. The keynote address was delivered by Pazion Cherent, CEO of Orbit Innovation Hub, who spoke about the SEED (Sustainable Employment through Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development) project. He congratulated the graduates of the SEED program and offered valuable advice on overcoming the challenges they will face in their entrepreneurial journeys.

The event featured a pitch session where four selected startups presented their ideas to the audience. The panel discussion that followed focused on the critical role of community development in supporting entrepreneurship. 

The SEED graduation ceremony, which recognizes startups for their contributions to sustainable employment through entrepreneurship, was also held today.
