Regional Stakeholders Engagement Meeting Held in Bahir Dar

The meeting brought together multitudes of regional stakeholders in Amhara National Regional State who are directly or indirectly involved in enterprises development in order to foster integration among stakeholders and to create conducive environment for entrepreneurs operating in the region. In the meeting a lot of activities were undertaken. Some of the major issues are:

  • Updates about Entrepreneurship Development Program implementation in the region was provided by Entrepreneurship Development Center (EDC) – Ethiopia Amhara National Regional State Coordination Office detailing the achievements, existing opportunities, and implementation challenges of the program in the region,
  • A team has been set up from Regional Technical, Vocational and Enterprises Development Bureau, Entrepreneurship Development Center (EDC) – Ethiopia Amhara National Regional State Coordination Office, Regional Chamber of Commerce and Sectorial Association presented complementary services, and challenges to access them. The aim of this presentation was to ignite discussion among participating key representatives, and participants and conclude the session by forming technical committee to head the solution and further service integration.

The meeting was attended by 90 participants and Amhara TV documented the programme for broadcast. Key representatives from our stakeholders' offices have also been interviewed. Some of important regional personalities who have attended the meeting include, three Deputy Heads of Regional Technical, Vocational and Enterprises Development Bureau; Deputy Head of Amhara Credit and Saving Share Company (ACSI); Deputy Head of Waliya Capital Goods Finance Share Company; Project Manager, Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA); Program Director of AbroBIG; Secretary General of Amhara National Regional State (ANRS) Chamber of Commerce and Sectorial Association; General Secretary of ANRS Chamber of Sectorial Association; President of Bahir Dar Chamber of Sectorial Association; and vice president of Amhara Women Entrepreneurs Association.
