From November 25 to November 28, 2024, a transformative four-day Entrepreneurship and Business Management Skills (EBMS) training took place at Aman Polytechnic College, Mizan-Aman, South West Ethiopia. The program brought together 35 young participants (13 males and 22 females), primarily graduating students and budding entrepreneurs preparing to launch or grow their own businesses. This initiative was jointly supported by EDI Ethiopia, the SEED Project, and Aman Polytechnic College, reflecting a shared commitment to fostering entrepreneurial talent.

The training aimed to inspire participants to view entrepreneurship as a promising career path. Through interactive sessions on idea generation, opportunity recognition, and business planning, participants gained practical insights into navigating the entrepreneurial landscape. A key focus of the program was developing a positive mindset—essential for overcoming challenges and achieving both personal and professional success. By exploring the traits of accomplished entrepreneurs and the globally recognized competencies critical for business success, the training empowered attendees to transform their aspirations into actionable strategies.

The EBMS program also provided participants with tools to identify and evaluate viable business opportunities, offering a clear pathway to translating their ideas into reality. Beyond technical skills, the training emphasized the importance of innovation, persistence, and adaptability, ensuring participants left equipped to tackle the complexities of entrepreneurship with confidence.

Although the training is ongoing, the participants’ enthusiasm is already evident. Many have expressed a strong determination to apply the concepts learned and integrate entrepreneurial behaviors into their future endeavors. This engagement underscores the program’s potential impact, as attendees actively explore ways to turn their insights into tangible results.
