As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2017 celebration, Entrepreneurship Development Center (EDC) – Ethiopia Southern Nations and Nationalities Peoples Regional State (SNNPRS) Coordination Office provided Entrepreneurship Training Workshop (ETW) to young entrepreneurs in Hawassa, the capital of the regional government.
The Entrepreneurship Training Workshop (ETW) is an internationally acclaimed workshop, developed through intensive research by Prof David McClelland of Harvard University for the United Nations Conference for Trade and Development (UNCTAD). ETW is six-day learners centered, practical, hands-on attitudinal and behavioral change training program built upon adult learning principles. It is based on the concept of a behavioral approach to entrepreneurship. Research carried out from a psychological perspective demonstrated that there are 10 Key entrepreneurial competencies (commonly called Personal Entrepreneurial Competencies or PECs) that influence the way entrepreneurs manage and run their businesses.
The training took place from 13 – 18 November 2017 and the participants were drawn from different economic sectors. 34 entrepreneurs successfully competed the training.
