EuropeanIcons Presentation & Authorship Workshop

EuropeanIcons book authorship and international essay competition, taking place as part of the 2015 UK Global Entrepreneurship Week celebration. The presentation will describe the entrepreneurial aspects of EuropeanIcons and how the book is vital to the whole project. The authorship workshop will provide guidance on story telling techniques and tips on how to do background research.

We define EuropeanIcons as artefacts, people and events signifying European achievements and invite you to spend a few minutes to let us know what your top ten choices for EuropeanIcons might be. Researched nominations to date range from the Rubik Cube, the IKEA "Billy" bookshelf and the VW Beetle, LEGO, to David Beckham, Concorde, James Bond, Chanel No5, the Lambretta, Gehry’s Guggenheim Bilbao, the Eurostar Highspeed Rail Network, and the Treaty of Rome document. There are contributions to the project by world-class institutions such as the V&A London, editors of leading news media and cultural institutions from across Europe.
