Kaslik, Lebanon – C Green, a startup that innovates and revolutionizes green fertilizer was awarded first prize at the national finals of the Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) competition held at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik - USEK, Lebanon, and organized by the Asher Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (ACIE) on Tuesday, September 6, 2022.
C Green founders Dany Romanos, Georges Jalkh, Rosabelle Chedid and Claude Abou Kheir competed against 10 teams and won first place. They will advance to the next round of the global competition against national winners from almost every country in the world.
"To win the National Finals means an opportunity to move to the upper level and compete with foreign entrepreneurs which in itself is a challenge to prove ourselves on an international scope,” said Chedid. “And it means a bigger responsibility towards all who believed in and supported C Green.”
C Green converts sludge waste into a green and affordable organic fertilizer for the local market by using mechanical, natural chemical, and physical processes to stabilize the final product. With a 100% locally-produced product, farmers will not have to pay the cost of shipment or wait for lengthy customs clearance procedures.
In preparation for the EWC Global Finals, pitcher Rosabelle Chedid will participate in a Bootcamp that features virtual training and mentoring sessions targeted to their company’s current stage and growth trajectory.
"Our focus now is to finalize the large-scale trials, and to start the production on a national level,” said Chedid, “and to prepare for the EWC Global Finals.”
