Hamburg, Germany – The Global Entrepreneurship Network is excited to announce the opening of a new Startup Huddle chapter in Hamburg, Germany, to support the growth of the local startup community while crowdsourcing advice and support for its entrepreneurs. Hamburg joins a global network of more than 60 Startup Huddle chapters worldwide, with its first event scheduled for November 2026.
In addition to providing direct support to entrepreneurs, the Startup Huddle program addresses a critical element of success for all entrepreneurial ecosystems – connectivity. According to GEN research, startup communities with higher levels of local connectedness translate to an increased number of startups, and founders with high levels of connectivity grow their revenue twice as fast as those with lower levels.
“Hamburg is in a phase of real momentum. The city is actively investing in its startup ecosystem, from public platforms and programs to university-based founder support, and there is a strong shared ambition to position Hamburg as a leading startup location. Across Germany, we are seeing a broader revival of startup culture and growing political and economic attention to founders,” says local organizer Ted Bischoff.
At each Startup Huddle event, local founders give six-minute presentations outlining challenges facing their companies. Each presentation is followed by a 20-minute conversation with an audience of peers, mentors, educators, and advisers who provide constructive criticism focused on finding solutions and increasing founder know-how. With new founders cycling through each gathering, and previous presenters joining the audience to give back, the community continues to expand while connections deepen.
“My vision is to create a place where anyone with a challenge can come and find a community that helps them solve it. Especially for young people and those just entering the startup scene, Startup Huddle should be an entry point where they realize they are not alone with their ideas and where they find their first real connections in the ecosystem,” says Bischoff.
