About GEN Ecosystems

Entrepreneurship does not happen in isolation; it flourishes within interconnected local, national and regional ecosystems shaped by culture, institutions, networks, and leadership GEN Ecosystems supports the individuals and organizations responsible for building, strengthening, and connecting these environments. This global community of ecosystem builders works to identify effective ecosystem models, share practical tools, and foster collaboration across cities, regions, and countries.

GEN Ecosystems provides platforms for peer learning, benchmarking, and performance measurement, helping communities understand where they stand and how they can improve. Through global networks, data-driven insights, and convenings such as the Global Entrepreneurship Congress, ecosystem leaders gain access to best practices and partnerships that accelerate local impact. By linking ecosystems into a truly global network, GEN Ecosystems democratizes access to opportunity, increases economic mobility, and ensures that entrepreneurs—regardless of geography—can benefit from strong, connected support systems.

Featured GEN programs and resources for ecosystem leaders include:

  • Global Entrepreneurship Week – a massive campaign where, each November, 10 million people take part in tens of thousands of activities, competitions and events that inspire them to take action while providing them with the knowledge, experience and connections they need to succeed.

  • Startup Huddle – building local startup communities through more than 50 chapters while crowd-sourcing advice and support, one entrepreneur at a time.

  • Global Entrepreneurship Congress – hosted by GEN in a different rising entrepreneurial city each year, the Congress gathers thousands of delegates from 200 countries to share and strengthen innovative approaches to empowering entrepreneurs everywhere.

  • GEN Connect – our interactive platform tools for connecting ecosystem leaders with founders, mentors, investors and other potential collaborators.

The Global Entrepreneurship Network operates programs that make it easier for anyone, anywhere to start and scale a business. Active in 200 countries, GEN divides its programs into four distinct pillars: GEN Founders, supporting entrepreneurs from idea to exit; GEN Invest, mobilizing and improving access to capital across markets; GEN Policy, advancing evidence-based public policies that enable entrepreneurship-led growth; and GEN Ecosystems, strengthening and connecting local entrepreneurship ecosystem leaders and the communities they serve worldwide.
