Tinatin Gholadze to guide GEN Georgia to strengthen international connections and implement new programs, initiatives
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Global Entrepreneurship Network has appointed Tinatin Gholadze as managing director of GEN Georgia. In this role, Gholadze is responsible for expanding collaboration among the country’s entrepreneurship ecosystem leaders and connecting them to their counterparts in more than 170 countries.
Gholadze said GEN Georgia’s mission is to develop a strong local entrepreneurial ecosystem through cooperation with entrepreneurs, local public authorities, investors and ecosystem builders. GEN Georgia will place a strong focus on strengthening the entrepreneurial environment for women and girls within the STEM and agriculture fields.
“With GEN Georgia, we will do our best to promote entrepreneurial culture and support Georgian entrepreneurs with the help of local stakeholders,” said Gholadze. “Our main strength is access to a large global entrepreneurial network which will help us to successfully connect local entrepreneurs with a global market. Founders of GEN Georgia are women entrepreneurs themselves, so we are going to focus on empowering women across the country to realize their potential and achieve their business dreams.”
At the global level, GEN operates in more than 170 countries. It fuels healthier start and scale ecosystems by fostering deeper cross-border collaboration and initiatives that engage entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, researchers and entrepreneurship support organizations.
GEN Georgia aims to strengthen the ecosystem by focusing on:
- Promoting the role of women in the STEM field, as well as creating STEM education programs to support women entrepreneurs,
- Developing a foundation of high-impact investment in Georgia,
- Ensuring constructive engagement of the public sector in supporting entrepreneur-designed public programs, as well as developing entrepreneurial research, policy and advocacy programs; and
- Providing high-impact entrepreneurs access to research, programs and networks inside the 170-nation strong GEN network.
Alongside her role as GEN Georgia’s acting managing director, Gholadze is the founder of Gotourify, and is the director of Martecker, a marketing and technology solutions firm in Georgia.
