Global Entrepreneurship Week Sokoto 2022

                                       

BACKGROUND:

Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. During one week each November, GEW inspires people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them take the next step in their entrepreneurial journey. These activities, from large-scale competitions and events to intimate networking gatherings, connect participants to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors — introducing them to new possibilities and exciting opportunities.

Global Entrepreneurship Week 2022, Theme: Education, Ecosystems Inclusion and Policy.

The 21st Century Entrepreneurs Hub will be joining the GEW 15 Years anniversary in Sokoto with an array of activities: GEW walk, free business clinic, CEOS live chat on Twitter and Instagram and business Exhibition.

OBJECTIVES:

  • To support startup with free business development consultation to enhance their businesses
  • To provide a platform for Sokoto State entrepreneurs to join the 15 years’ anniversary of GEW
  • To create a platform for start-ups to promote/showcase their products and services to a broader group that may have little or no knowledge of their products and services

IMPLEMENTATION APPROACH/METHODOLOGY:

  • Conduct GEW Sokoto2022 walk from UDUTH junction to the Government House
  • Conduct GEW Sokoto2022 free business clinic on business development, marketing, branding and packaging
  • Conduct GEW Sokoto2022 CEOs live chat on Twitter space and Instagram live with the MD GEN Nigeria and other special guest in commemoration of the 15 Years anniversary of GEW
  • A one-day exhibition of made in Sokoto goods and services (expo) that will bring together various start-up entrepreneurs at all stages of development with possible investors, traders, NGO’s, government bodies and other entities under one umbrella. The fair will create an opportunity for the start-ups to sell their products at a lower price exclusively for the attendees, which will be around 2000+ potential buyers.

EXPECTED OUTCOME:

  • Create a platform for cultivation of ideas and networking between startups.
  • Promote inter-trade among young entrepreneurs.
  • Give attendees and possible investors a memorable experience, from which they are moved to act
  • Tell stories of hiding initiatives and innovations clearly and with impact
  • Create visibility about GEW and activities of GEN Nigeria
