GEN Nigeria

GEN began operating in Nigeria in 2010 with the launch of Global Entrepreneurship Week. GEN's leadership team in Nigeria expanded GEW during the years by adding activities including the GEW Walk, seven days of GEW Radio, Women Enterprise Day, youth entrepreneurial dialogue and an award ceremony. These built a large community of ecosystem leaders around which to operate year-round programming. Launched in 2017, GEN Nigeria supports Nigeria's entrepreneurship ecosystem by harmonizing the various pockets of entrepreneurial activities in the country while instituting national enterprise programs and competitions, and conducting policy research on how to improve conditions for Nigerian startups and entrepreneurs. Just as important, GEN Nigeria is a platform for providing access to global opportunities for Nigerian entrepreneurs.

GLOBAL SPOTLIGHT

Entrepreneurs Thrive Here: Global Entrepreneurship Week 2026

Millions of people around the world have the ideas, talent, and ambition to build something better for themselves and their communities — but have never seen entrepreneurship as a path available to them. Global Entrepreneurship Week, taking place November 16-22, 2026, changes that. This campaign meets people where they are and connects them to the networks, tools, and support to take that first step — showing what’s possible in their own communities.
