GEW Ecosystem Connect: Engaging Cities in Collaboration Global Entrepreneurship Network and other entrepreneurship support organizations around the world are looking beyond SIlicon Valley to facilitate collaboration and partnership between startup ecosystems in promising mid-tier cities. Sharing knowledge and connecting local ecosystem leaders has become increasingly important in building healthy and thriving entrepreneurial communities. GEW Ecosystem Connect aims to inspire communities to collaborate, and share their networks and markets to help their rising startups thrive. This theme celebrates the shared challenges and triumphs of entrepreneurship communities and hubs around the world. During Global Entrepreneurship Week, we will highlight powerful voices and ambassadors that promote the collaboration of local ecosystems in mid-tier cities; events, activities and competitions targeted toward engaging local ecosystem builders and entrepreneurship support efforts; and GEN’s partner organizations that are playing active roles in the space. Topics covered may include: ‘Sister City’ implementation International expansion programs International distribution and trade Community challenges Needs assessment for local entrepreneurs FEATURED EVENTS GIST Regional Startup Training Central Asia | GIST Initiative Tashkent, Uzbekistan, November 13 – 16 The GIST Regional Startup Training Central Asia will give participants four days of training to hone their business ideas, perfect their pitches and showcase their innovation during a Demo Day in front of business leaders, investors and policy makers from around the region. The training is open to science and tech entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan; and is implemented with GIST partners VentureWell and C.A.T. Science Accelerator.
