Imo Economic Summit Group

The endemic challenges of doing business in Nigeria and particularly, in our dear state, Imo State, has become a serious concern particularly in these times of the compelling need for economic diversification and resource optimization. Doing business in the Imo environment has been found to be bedevilled with myriads of hiccups across various sectors including government institutions (institutional impediments), environmental and human factors.

In order to provide an independent stop-gap agency to offer a flow-through seamless interface, a galaxy of talented resourceful and dynamic professionals, from diverse corporate and organisational exposures and backgrounds, assembled to bridge the gap, under the umbrella of IMESG.

IMESG is therefore poised to provide confidence comfort to potential investors and the government of Imo State, the South East and Nigeria in general, provide advisory services to potential and real-time investors, conduct researches into the effectiveness of economic policies and development roadmaps, serve as independent assessors for key economic factors relative to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and to provide contingent solutions to critical economic challenges including financing and instruments of comfort.

The diaspora community needs reputable interface agency to be able to bring back their funds and to invest them without being afraid of being defrauded or facing inconsistency of government entities’ conduct which threaten investments. Investment guide will therefore be provided in order to facilitate their investment motives.

The group will therefore in addition to organising workshops, Economic Summit, and seminars, also offer back-end professional services in order to provide measured solutions as to engender operating fluidity.

Sub-Themes:

  1. Access to Finance
  2. Business Sustainability Concept.

After the presentations, there shall be group session where critical analysis of subject matter in view of economic realities shall be analysed.

POST SUMMIT ACTIVITIES

IMESG will determine measurable timeframe for every activity point identified during summits and panels. Implementation plans will be initiated and follow-up activated in order to ensure steady progress in establishing business operating fluidity.

In this regard, certified economic and systems experts will be syndicated in order to ensure effective and efficient program delivery.

As the core focal centre is Imo State, the Eastern Heartland, the interpolative applicability of the economic solutions churned out of each study will be relevant in the South East economic scope.

It is therefore our vision to offer an independent platform to drive key initiatives that will turn Imo State and South East economic fortunes and to make it investment haven in the medium term and long-term time-frame.

NEEDS OF IMESG

IMESG needs collaborators, financiers and investors who will synergise with us to actualize the dream of turning Imo State and the entire South East into economic and investment Eldorado of Nigeria and the entire Africa.

Our drive to open the door of investment by raising the confidence level of potential investors and the diaspora community will activate huge inflow of funds and create enhanced economic ecosystem. We need effective collaboration with government and non-governmental institutions and individuals in order to actualize our lofty vision.

CONCLUSION

Imo State can leverage on its population of over 3.4 million people, its centrality in the South East, educated, enlightened and energetic population, the presence of Imo International Cargo Airport (Sam Mbakwe), the huge gas deposit, the water channels and the ocean front, Tropical rainforest climate and fertile soil, to jumpstart an integrative economy that can compete with the best in the world. All that is needed is a well-structured development road-map and an inter-agency optimizer, which IMESG is out to provide, to jumpstart the economic development. Yes, it is possible, yes, we can.
