Progress & Possibility: The Future of Entrepreneurship in Iraq and Kurdistan

This one-day forum brings together the full entrepreneurship value chain: government and regulators, private-sector leaders, universities, incubators and accelerators, investors, and founders for a frank, solutions-focused dialogue. It is a working session: we will assess the current state, identify the most urgent gaps, and translate them into practical next steps that stakeholders can realistically pursue within their mandates. The day concludes with a concise, non-binding Action Plan Note (Recommendations) that organizes insights into suggested actions, indicative time horizons, and suggested owners, providing a credible reference to align expectations and guide follow-up across institutions.

Outcomes

  • Announce the GEN Erbil Campus: Issue a joint statement with our strategic partner, Newroz, outlining a high‑level roadmap.
  • Develop an Action Plan. Note: Within 30 days, draft and finalize a 1–2‑page Action Plan (Recommendations) consolidating 6–8 prioritized near‑ and medium‑term actions, with suggested stakeholders and indicative timelines, in collaboration with partners.
  • Plan a follow‑up Policy Roundtable: By 2026, confirm the date and craft the agenda for a full assessment session with the Policy Roundtable, bringing together regulators, private‑sector partners, GEN‑Iraq, and relevant academic partners.
  • Enable ecosystem connections: Facilitate at least 10 curated introductions between startups and investors/corporates during the forum, and circulate a consolidated contact list within three days post‑event.
