HUSSEIN Hubs: High-tech Unified Smart Sustainable Energy Innovation Network

The High-tech Unified Smart Sustainable Energy Innovation Network (HUSSEIN-Hubs) is an ambitious national initiative designed to مفتوح Open doors for Jordanian youth by equipping them with hands-on in renewable energy, smart grids, AI, IoT, and clean-tech entrepreneurship. By setting up a network of advanced labs across our local universities and technical centers throughout Jordan, this program aims to build a talented workforce capable accelerating Jordan’s path toward a net-zero future.
 
 Why is this initiative important?
 Jordan already stands out as a regional leader in Renewable Energy, with over 27% of our electricity coming from renewables. However, we have a chance to go even further by investing directly in young innovators. Right now, there aren’t enough advanced labs where students and budding entrepreneurs can experiment with AI-driven energy systems, build digital twins, test cutting-edge energy-related technologies or IoT-based micro-grids, or explore new power electronics. Similarly, there’s a gap in national programs that bring together renewable energy, AI, and entrepreneurship under one roof to serve both education and industry needs.
 
 Goals:
 Through the HUSSEIN-Hubs, we envision a network of all the state-of-the-art innovation centers across Jordan that will:
 1. Give hundreds of young Jordanians the high-tech skills needed to work on renewable systems, smart grids, AI, IoT, and digital twins.
 2. Act as incubation and prototyping spaces where students and startups can turn ideas into real-world energy solutions.
 3. Foster a culture of collaboration and data sharing, building national platforms that push Jordan’s green transition forward.
 
 
 Proposed Plan:
 We propose rolling this out in 4 phases:
 1. We will build partnerships with universities, and select the first sites.
 2. We will launch the first three (pilot) hubs, develop flagship curriculum, and run initial youth innovation projects.
 3. We will expand to all targeted sites, and integrate these labs into technical high school tracks.
 4. Partner with regional players like Masdar and IRENA to showcase Jordan’s youth-led solutions.
 
 Partnerships 
 We will try to bring together: Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Higher Education, Siemens, Huawei, and local clean-tech startups, and IRENA youth programs.
