GEN in Jordan

GEN has been active in Jordan since 2008. Each November, Jordan's Global Entrepreneurship Week campaign highlights the many benefits of entrepreneurship and reaches more than 25,000 people through 1,200+ events. GEN conducts GEW in Jordan in partnership with the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship (QRCE) and more than 250 other organizations actively engage in GEW. The Princess Sumaya University for Technology, for example, holds 1,500 wide ranging events. More than 450 Jordanian startups have entered the Entrepreneurship World Cup, an annual startup pitch competition for promising startups with $1 million in cash prizes and access to mentorship and training resources. Five have reaching the global finals. Startup Huddle is a GEN program that supports the development of Amman's startup and ecosystem through monthly meetups. GEN is well positioned to continue supporting Jordan's ecosystem with strategic partnerships and the active engagement of a wide cross section of ecosystem leaders, such as Zain Innovation Campus, Wamda Capital, Business Development Centre Jordan, iPARK, Information and Communication Technology Association of Jordan, Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation, King Hussein Foundation, Ministry of Investment, Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and Oasis 500.
