Empowering Women Through Skills and Economic Opportunities

As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week Lebanon 2026, the Development for People and Nature Association (DPNA), through its Socio-Economic Resilience for Action (SERA) project, is promoting women's economic empowerment by supporting 80 women across Saida, Nabatieh, Marjeyoun, and Tyre in South Lebanon.

Funded by the Women's Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) / UNDP, the project provides practical vocational training tailored to local economic opportunities. Participants develop skills in sewing and tailoring in Saida, olive production and processing in Nabatieh, perfume and soap production in Marjeyoun, and traditional straw handicrafts in Tyre.

Following the training, participants will transition into a Cash-for-Work phase, allowing them to apply their newly acquired skills through paid, practical activities while gaining valuable experience and generating income.

Implemented in coordination with four women-led partner organizations, the initiative aims to strengthen women's economic participation, encourage entrepreneurial thinking, and create pathways toward sustainable livelihoods.

Through this initiative, DPNA highlights the importance of investing in women's skills, creativity, and economic potential, particularly in conflict-affected communities, while contributing to a more inclusive and resilient entrepreneurial ecosystem in Lebanon.
