Nawah 2018 - Innovation Award for Social Entrepreneurship

Nawah “the Egyptian Innovation Award for Entrepreneurship Competition”

Nawah Competition is entering its fourth year of implementation. After three consecutive years, in which the project substantially grew in both size and scope, it became one of the main social entrepreneurship events in Egypt that contributes to the development of entrepreneurial business ecosystem.

In this regard, the International Labour Organization (ILO), GEN Egypt/MCSBE, GIZ’s Employment Promotion Programme (EPP), USAID’s Workforce Improvement and Skills Enhancement (WISE) project, The Technical and Vocational Education and Training Reform - Phase II (TVET II) and the Educational Partner Arab Academy for Science Technology & Maritime Transport (AASTMT) are glad to announce Nawah 2018, sponsored by “Tatweer Misr”.

Nawah offers an annual opportunity for entrepreneurs to compete in a country-wide challenge, to show-case their business idea and projects. Ideas and projects are selected based on sustainability, social problem solving ability (impact) and innovation.

Through Nawah 2018, we identify exceptional individuals (aged 18-35) from across Egypt who could play a significant role in their country's economy by creating new startups and companies and bringing in more innovative ideas and projects. Nawah is looking for students and college/institute graduates, ages from 18-35 and should be able to passionately explain all related details to your idea or startup and already have examples of what you have accomplished in your life.

Nawah provides free-equity financial prizes including: 100,000 Egyptian pounds to the first winner of the best idea in the ideation stage. 250,000 Egyptian pounds to the first winner of the best Startup to enlarge their startup. In addition to the mentorship programs and the online and offline exposure for winners. Finalists will have tailored training programs and the chance to be invited to the Egyptian Entrepreneurship Summit in Luxor this year.
