Event Title: GEW2024 Entrepreneurship Campus Tour

Target Audience: Students of tertiary Institutions  

Background:
The Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is an annual event celebrated worldwide to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and collaboration among entrepreneurs. It is a platform that encourages individuals to explore their entrepreneurial potential and connect with mentors, investors, researchers, and policymakers globally. In commemoration of the GEW 2024, the 21st Century Entrepreneurs Hub, in collaboration with the Global Entrepreneurship Network Nigeria, aims to take this celebration to various campuses across Nigeria, specifically in Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Katsina, Nasarawa, Niger, Adamawa, Gombe, Jigawa, and Bauchi states.

Objectives:

  • Introduce GEW celebrations to students:
    The tour will expose students to the significance of the Global Entrepreneurship Week and its role in fostering entrepreneurial growth both in Nigeria and globally.
  • Create awareness about the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Nigeria:
    Through discussions, exhibitions, and interactions with stakeholders, students will learn about Nigeria's evolving entrepreneurship landscape, its challenges, and opportunities.
  • Introduce and enroll students into the Transforming Nigerian Youths (TNY) online training:
    The TNY program is designed to equip young Nigerians with entrepreneurial skills and knowledge. This tour aims to introduce students to the program and enroll interested participants into the online platform.
  • Create Global Entrepreneurship Networks on campuses:
    Students will be encouraged to form entrepreneurship clubs that will serve as campus hubs for collaboration, innovation, and networking, linked to the Global Entrepreneurship Network.
  • Catch the young:
    By targeting university and polytechnic students, this initiative aims to inspire young individuals to explore entrepreneurship early in their academic and professional journeys.

Methodology:

  • Tour Organization: The GEW2024 Entrepreneurship Campus Tour will visit three institutions per state, covering a total of 30 institutions across the selected 10 states.
  • Target Audience: Each tour stop will aim to engage 500 students per institution, resulting in approximately 15,000 students being impacted during the Global Entrepreneurship Week.

 

Tour Activities

  • Keynote Sessions: These will feature successful entrepreneurs, innovators, and industry experts who will share their entrepreneurial journey and provide insights into navigating the Nigerian entrepreneurship ecosystem.
  • Panel Discussions: Panels will discuss topics such as the role of youth in entrepreneurship, digital entrepreneurship opportunities, and strategies for scaling startups in Nigeria.
  • TNY Online Training Enrolment Drive: Dedicated booths and sessions will be set up to guide students through the registration process for the Transforming Nigerian Youths (TNY) online training program.
  • Entrepreneurship Workshops: Practical sessions on business ideation, pitching, and financing will be held to equip students with essential entrepreneurial skills.
  • Networking Opportunities: The tour will encourage the formation of student-led entrepreneurship networks, which will be linked to the Global Entrepreneurship Network Nigeria to facilitate continuous learning, collaboration, and mentorship.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Increased awareness of GEW and the entrepreneurship ecosystem: Students across 10 states will have a deeper understanding of the importance of entrepreneurship and the available resources to support their entrepreneurial endeavors.
  • TNY Enrolment: A minimum of 5,000 students will be enrolled in the Transforming Nigerian Youths online training program.
  • Creation of entrepreneurship networks on campuses: At least 10 student-led Global Entrepreneurship Networks will be established across campuses to serve as hubs for innovation and collaboration.
  • Empowerment of young entrepreneurs: Through workshops and training, students will gain entrepreneurial skills and insights, positioning them to launch or scale their business ideas.

The GEW2024 Entrepreneurship Campus Tour aims to inspire and equip the next generation of Nigerian entrepreneurs by fostering an entrepreneurial mindset and building a robust network of young innovators. By leveraging the Global Entrepreneurship Week celebrations and the Transforming Nigerian Youths program, this initiative will provide students with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to thrive in Nigeria's entrepreneurship ecosystem.
