GEW kicked off with a Walk for Entrepreneurship on Saturday, 16th November, 2013 within the Victoria Island metropolis, the central business district in Lagos, Nigeria. It was a 9 kilometer walk to promote entrepreneurship awareness and the celebration of GEW in Nigeria. An impressive crowd of more than 300 young people took part, made up of entrepreneurs, young students and the 2 national partners, Etisalat Nigeria and Stanbic.
Tuface Idibia, a Nigerian International music sensation made a special guest appearance and really energized the crowd and campaign. With adequate security, road guidance and health care services provided by the Nigerian Police Force and other state agencies, the walk was hitch free and was an amazing kick off for all of the 2013 GEW activities.
