The Waltham Forest BIPC Local is delighted to host a panel of local entrepreneurs, discussing the effect of the current cost of living crisis on your business and how to overcome it. Each panellist has persevered through the highs and lows of their business journey's and have a unique story to tell.

Join us as we celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week and come away from this session feeling more connected and inspired.

Meet the speakers

Marjorie Price, Price Management Consultancy: Marjorie Price founded her training and consultancy company, Price Management Consultancy, to develop effective organisational leadership and help clients realise their full potential. Whether climbing the corporate ladder or founding a business, she empowers businesspeople through mentorship, coaching and training programmes.

“My passion for setting up PMC is to help those in a management or leadership position to realise their “social responsibility to staff”, that teaches them how to manage with emotional intelligence and empathy. The benefits of managing this way will develop a stable, motivated, committed and productive workforce. As research shows that 75% of staff leave their manager and not their job, due to a poor relationship they have with their first line managers. This leaves organisations with an unstable workforce that stifles organisational productivity and growth. Shola Emily: Shola is a 6 figure Amazon seller and successful online coach, who has supported 100’s of people struggling to make sales on amazon and build another stream of consistent income! In a year she was able to go from 5 figures in debt to a 6-figure turnover, through the likes of Amazon and eBay. This experience taught her the power of the e-commerce and in particular Amazon! After helping 100s of students earn thousands on Amazon, some even reaching the 6-figure milestone, shola wants to share her amazing story and journey with the rest of you on this night of inspiration.

Amit Sodha, Action Coach: Amit has coached and guided 100s of businesses around the country across many different sectors. He has helped business owners achieve double digit growth month on month across different industries. Prior to becoming a business coach, Amit held various leadership positions at investment banks including Goldman Sachs, RBS and ICBC Standard Bank. He has also been a guest speaker in webinars, workshops and presentations held by HSBC, Metrobank, Brent Council, Lewisham Council and the Federation for Small Businesses (FSB). A principal Amit strives to follow is one quoted by Jim Rohn, “Don’t spend major time on minor things. Or minor time on major things”.

Stewart Smith, Natwest: NatWest’s local enterprise manager for North London. He works with other organisations such as Business & IP Centre Waltham Forest to make sure local businesses thrive. In practical terms this involves helping them to grow through learning, networking and securing funding. Stewart’s main aim is to support and deliver local events and to assist business development through his customer contacts and professional referrals.

The agenda

We will ask the panel questions about their journey, why they started their businesses, unexpected challenges they had to overcome, their biggest wins, and tips for persevering to grow your own enterprise. There will also be time for open discussion and Q&A from the group.
