GEN began operating in Niger in 2015 with a national Global Entrepreneurship Week campaign that celebrated Niger's entrepreneurs. In 2019, the leadership team registered GEN Niger as an economic interest group (EIG) with an independent Board of Directors (registration number NE/NIM/01/2019/C10/00004).

Mission

GEN Niger seeks to mobilize all needed resources to facilitate and to develop economic activities of its members, to improve or to grow its activity outputs.

GEN Niger's mission is to:

- Share analysis of NIger's entrepreneurial ecosystem

- Connect entrepreneurship stakeholders

- Support entrepreneurs, innovators, and researchers

- Celebrate entrepreneurship and innovation.

The Global Entrepreneurship Network operates a platform of projects and programs in 200 countries aimed at making it easier for anyone, anywhere to start and scale a business. By fostering deeper cross border collaboration and initiatives between entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, policymakers and entrepreneurial support organizations, GEN works to fuel healthier start and scale ecosystems that create more jobs, educate individuals, accelerate innovation and strengthen economic growth.
