The Centre for Youth Entrepreneurship Development (CENYED) promotes and sustains entrepreneurship in Nigeria. Since 2012, CENYED has been leading the arts and science of building lives through the annual Global Entrepreneurship Week with its strategic programs, raising over 5000 entrepreneurship believers.

As part of its mission to well engage the impact of the 2017 Global Entrepreneurship Week program, the Centre for Youth Entrepreneurship Development (CENYED) is collaborating with Konverge Media to implement the Google Digital Skills Africa program for youths in Ogoni-Rivers State. The objective of this event is to push for diversification of Nigeria's economy by supporting youths to understand the ICT sector, and build businesses of the generation next. Digital Skills Training to young persons and professionals is a first step to understanding the opportunities the web gives them to get employed or start their own business.

The Google Digital Skills for Africa (#DigitalSkills4Africa) program curriculum is an intensive 3 hour session with 1 extra hour for questions and answers. It has been carefully designed to include important topics like 

The Online/Digital Opportunity, 
How To Build Your Online Presence, 
Introduction to Advertising Online,
Introduction To Mobile
and Job Opportunities in Digital. 

Goals

1.    To train Ogoni youths in basic and advance digital skills.

2.    To train Ogoni youths in the digital skills needed, either as an entrepreneur or as a    professional.

3.    To train youths on Google digital marketing tools especially Google Adwords.

4.    To get young Ogoni people digitally certified.

Target Audience

Students (potential Job Seekers), Job Seekers, and Career Professionals. Successful participants will receive a Certificate of Participation from Google.
