Opening of Global Entrepreneurship Week

Entrepreneurship for All

     Abdelhafid Boussouf University Center of Mila organized the Global Entrepreneurship Week as part of its contribution to this significant global event, held under the patronage of the Ministry of the Interior, tThe Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Startups, and Micro-Enterprises, and in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The event spans from November 18 to 25, 2024.

    The opening ceremony witnessed the presence of local authorities, including the Governor of the province, state officials, security authorities, executive directors, and some members of the National Council in both chambers. The event was also attended by Pr. Amirouche Bouchlaghem, the Director of the University Center of Mila, his deputies, institute directors, the director of the Business Incubator, the director of the Entrepreneurship Development Center, and representatives from national agencies such as The National Entrepreneurship Support and Development Agency (NESDA), AAPI (Algerian Agency for the Promotion of Investment), and NAMCM (National Agency for Micro-credit Management). In addition, faculty members, university staff, students, and individuals interested in startups were present.

     After listening to verses from the Holy Quran and the national anthem, the University Center Director delivered a welcoming speech. He expressed gratitude to the Governor for his presence and highlighted the Governor's and local authorities' commitment to enhancing the local economic environment and promoting entrepreneurship in the province. The Director praised Algeria's efforts to improve its global entrepreneurship ranking, develop the business environment, and encourage investment. He also emphasized the ministry’s dedication to guiding students towards establishing startups and contributing to sustainable development and social well-being. This is reflected in organizing such events as part of the global celebration, coinciding with the official inauguration of the Global Entrepreneurship Week by the President of the Republic. The Director warmly welcomed the attendees and wished everyone success in making this week a success.

     The Governor  Mr Mustapha Koreich then addressed the audience. Before officially launching the Global Entrepreneurship Week, he commended the warm reception and excellent organization at the university. He reiterated his commitment to supporting such events, actively contributing to similar activities, and encouraging initiatives aimed at fostering investment and achieving the strategic objectives of the country's leadership. He then declared the official launch of Entrepreneurship Week, extending his gratitude and warm regards to all attendees, wishing success for the event's activities.

This was followed by speeches from various directors and representatives related to the event, including the director of the Entrepreneurship Development Center Dr. BOUDERDJA RAMZI, the director of the Business Incubator DR. Daoudi HAMZA,  the director of NESDA, and other officials, each discussing their respective fields of expertise and responsibilities, Focusing in their speeches on the importance and significant role of entrepreneurship in achieving local development. 

Afterward, the Governor of Mila Province and his accompanying delegation, along with the University Director, visited an exhibition showcasing startups and various participating organizations. During the visit, the Governor attentively listened to the concerns of entrepreneurs and project owners to help overcome the obstacles they face.

The week's activities will continue as planned according to the established program.
