GEN Philippines was the only Asian country to receive the highest recognition as GEN Country of the Year nominee for its active entrepreneurial campaigns and nationwide activities. "Although we did not win the award, we feel that being nominated for the country of the year and the only country from Asia is already a huge victory for us," says Henry Ong, Managing Director of GEN Philippines.

"We are very grateful for this nomination because this recognizes the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our team at GEN Philippines, our partners and supporters" Ong adds.

GEN Philippines led successful GEW campaign last year with a total number of 529 events, 144 partners, and 264,500 participants. The Global Entrepreneurship Week was highlighted by entrepreneurial fashion and startup exhibit at Miriam College and the annual Failing Forward Conference featuring the country's top entrepreneurs hosted by Far Eastern University, which was attended by more than a thousand participants.

GEN Philippines was also one of the first to launch a series of Startup Huddle sessions and innovated GEN forums, a monthly learning series featuring successful founders and technical experts. GEN Philippines also organized the first Startup Nation Policy Hack as well as Startup Summit, which featured national finals competition for Creative Business Cup Philippines.
