The Far Eastern University’s Department of Business Administration of the Institute of Accounts, Business and Finance has been home to the Global Entrepreneurship Week culminating activities and the Creative Business Cup competition in the past three (3) years. Last November 24, 2020, the same department launched the TamBiz website to host virtual exhibits of innovative products by student entrepreneurs. The website presented 18 projects all of which can be potential business startups.
The Tambiz website is a project of the Business Administration team led by its department chairman, Maria Carmen Lapuz. “We wanted a place for our students to exhibit their products. In the past years, we hold the exhibits on campus grounds but because of the pandemic we are not allowed to do that. Instead, our team came up with this virtual project. We are delighted that our website gained many visitors since its launch,” Carmen tells GEN Philippines. “Even when everything goes back to normal, Tambiz.org is here to stay.”
TamBiz is a play-on-words that combines the University’s symbol, the tamaraw and the department’s name. It is the culminating event of students in the course Business Planning under the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree program. With Tambiz, the department continues to support innovators and entrepreneurs, and grows its network of small and medium size businesses that are owned by FEU students and alumni.
