PLANTATION OF 30,000 TREES AND 20,000 REEDS.

The East of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is covered with a very important environmental space rich in forests, mining resources, a water space and natural reserves. Nevertheless, the challenges and difficulties are enormous and the standard of living of local communities continues to deteriorate, causing increased vulnerability and misery linked to poverty. Forests are destroyed, erosion, landslides due to lack of protection, floods, volcanic effects. Added to this are the effects of repeated wars and their socio-economic impacts on the well-being of local populations. In view of this very deplorable situation, the Association of the Survivors of Makobola Makobola (ARMMK) in this project has taken the initiative to plant 30000 Trees and 20000 Reeds.

The project is located in Bangwe-Makobola / Fizi-Uvira / South-Kivu. The Territories of FIZI and UVIRA with a density of over 44,000 km2 has a population of over 1,570. 347 inhabitants and will serve the local communities at the base.

The main objective of the project is to contribute together for the protection of our ecosystem from our collective efforts to achieve a productive result and lift the socio-economic isolation that populations face.

The project involves the planting of 30,000 trees on the hills overlooking cities and towns and 20,000 reeds along Lake Tanganyika for biodiversity, the fight against water pollution in Lake Tanganyika and its negative impact in the growth the productivity of lake species.

The project will allow not only the protection of nature, but also the harvested fruits will have a positive impact on human nutrition, the increase in proteins and will generate revenue.

The quantity will increase over time to reach the planting of more than 100,000 trees.
