An Affiliate of the Global Entrepreneurship Network

GEN Congo (Kinshasa)

The Global Entrepreneurship Network has been active in the Democratic Republic of Congo since the launch of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) in 2008. Known locally as La Semaine Mondiale de l'Entrepreneuriat, the annual campaign's reach expanded rapidly over the years, both in scope and geography. GEN works on policy with the National Agency for the Development of Congolese Entrepreneurship (ANADEC), which participates in the Startup Nations community, a network within GEN that convenes governments around entrepreneurship reform. Building on more than fifteen years of ecosystem development and sustained government engagement, GEN established a permanent affiliate to advance its mission year-round. GEN's mission in the DRC is to connect founders to networks, knowledge and capital, helping more businesses formalize, scale, and compete beyond Central Africa.

GLOBAL SPOTLIGHT

Entrepreneurs Thrive Here: Global Entrepreneurship Week 2026

Millions of people around the world have the ideas, talent, and ambition to build something better for themselves and their communities — but have never seen entrepreneurship as a path available to them. Global Entrepreneurship Week, taking place November 16-22, 2026, changes that. This campaign meets people where they are and connects them to the networks, tools, and support to take that first step — showing what’s possible in their own communities.
