Youth Entrepreneurship Framework

The Youth Entrepreneurship Framework, launched in October 2024 by Youth Business International (YBI) and the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), is a comprehensive policy guide aimed at empowering young entrepreneurs globally. This groundbreaking report offers fresh perspectives and actionable steps for policymakers and entrepreneur support organizations to foster a new generation of founders. The framework identifies four emerging trends in youth entrepreneurship: necessity-based entrepreneurship amid rising unemployment, the growth of green entrepreneurship, the importance of meaningful work for Gen Z and Millennial business owners, and the pursuit of community-driven initiatives with social impact. It also outlines key barriers faced by young entrepreneurs, including skills development, complex business environments, access to finance, and inadequate support services. To address these challenges, the report provides 50 actionable recommendations, each tied to real-world case studies from GEN's Atlas.
