About GEN in Spain

Spain

GEN began operating in Spain when it partnered with Autoocupacio, a business development organization, to conduct the annual Global Entrepreneurship Week campaign. GEW is supported by more than 50 stakeholders that support entrepreneurs and help highlight powerful voices and new partner organizations that promote, encourage and support the development of entrepreneurs. Each edition has been more successful than the previous one.

GEN operates a platform of projects and programs in 200+ countries aimed at making it easier for anyone, anywhere to start and scale a business. In Spain, GEN translates and customizes global programs – such as Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC), Startup Huddle and Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW). Coordinated by Albert Colomer, GEN's Ambassador for Spain, he aims to engage and connect Spain's national ecosystem stakeholders and serve as an umbrella for developing new programs and initiatives that strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

With 18 autonomous regions, communities and four levels of public administration in Spain, there are more than 4,000 entrepreneurial support organizations spread across the country. GEN is aiming to have at least one representative in each region in Spain. The team consists of Adrià Pascual and Neus Gorina, Guillem Arís, the lead for GEW, and BANC (Business Angels Network Catalunya) a member of the Global Business Angels Network (GBAN).

GEN’s extensive footprint of national operations and global verticals in policy, research and programs ensures members have uncommon access to the most relevant knowledge, networks, communities and programs relative to language, culture, geography and more. GEN helps celebrate, understand, support and connect entrepreneurs and those who champion them.
