IEEE Innovation Nation Sri Lanka (INSL) marked Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2024 on the 23rd of November with a series of inspiring and educational events. The day was dedicated to fostering innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial thinking, bringing together a vibrant mix of young professionals, students, and industry leaders.
From 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the day kicked off with the Business Stage Competition, a platform where aspiring entrepreneurs presented their innovative ideas to a panel of judges and a live audience. As a key feature of the event, participants and attendees had the privilege of listening to a special lecture by Mr. Jaseem, the assistant treasurer of IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka and project coordinator of Global Entrepreneurship Week Sri Lanka . His insightful session highlighted the vital role of entrepreneurship in driving progress and innovation. He delved into strategies for overcoming challenges, building resilience, and nurturing creativity, offering participants valuable tools to navigate their entrepreneurial journeys.
The celebrations continued into the evening with an engaging online session led by Mr. Aloka Gunasekara, a renowned Venture Architect. Held via Zoom at 7:00 PM, the session provided a comprehensive guide for aspiring entrepreneurs to take their first steps toward building successful ventures. Mr. Gunasekara shared essential knowledge, practical insights, and actionable strategies, focusing on the foundations of entrepreneurship, from idea validation to creating sustainable business models. The interactive nature of the session allowed attendees to gain clarity and confidence in their entrepreneurial pursuits.
