During Global Entrepreneurship Week 2021 (#GEW2021), founders and those that support them are coming together in new ways to celebrate, inspire and support entrepreneurs as the world seeks new ways of doing things in the wake of the pandemic.

The Global Entrepreneurship Network’s Startup Huddle program is one such way. Launched in 2018, the program – which has expanded to more than 120 cities and 60 active chapters – builds startup communities by rallying local ecosystems at regular meetups, or “huddles,” and crowdsources solutions to challenges faced by startups.

Over three years, Startup Huddle has directly supported hundreds of entrepreneurs and forged local and global connections for thousands of founders and supporters. In 2021 alone, grassroots organizers launched more than 20 chapters as catalysts for resilient economies in which entrepreneurs are key players. Today, there are over 60 active chapters across every continent.

During #GEW2021, communities in 39 countries across Europe, Africa, South America and Asia are hosting Startup Huddle events – some for the first time as they beta test the program locally and others as they launch permanent chapters. Chapters across Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and South America are also coming together for large regional huddles.

"Through good times and bad times, founders need a trusted support network," said Jayren Teo, the organizer for Startup Huddle Singapore. "As a founder myself, I understand that entrepreneurship can be a lonely journey. Startup Huddle is a great platform for entrepreneurs to connect and confide in others.”

Singapore's Startup Huddle Chapter will launch this week alongside Startup Huddle Harare (Zimbabwe) and Startup Huddle Abuja (Nigeria).
