From startup to scale-up: how The University of Sheffield International Faculty CITY College provides a global platform for its
The University of Sheffield International Faculty, CITY College, a true world-class renowned entrepreneurial university mentioned in top international case studies takes the needs of its community to the next level by providing cutting-edge training, access to networks and support required for startup establishment and scale-up. Whether you are a student, alumni or an interested collaborator, CITY College's ecosystem can open new doors for your innovative idea. As an institution, we truly believe in shaping society's next generation of entrepreneurs and therefore we believe that providing the necessary support on this matter is crucial. Besides specialised executive courses and curricula that aim at providing the theoretical and practical foundations of entrepreneurship and startups, CITY College provides access to mentorship, seed financing and angel investment through its partner networks such as the European Business Angels Network (EBAN), World Business Angels Forum (WBAF), Triple Helix Association (THA) and many others. On top of this, CITY College organises an annual global conference - the International Conference for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Regional Development (ICEIRD) which brings together innovators, entrepreneurs, businesses, investors and policy makers. Spanning over 11 years of existence, ICEIRD has circled around Europe, while its 11th edition (2018) took place in Doha, Qatar (and hosted a startup pitching event where more than 500 participants competed for investment). ICEIRD's 12th edition (2019) will take place in Montreal, Canada - one of the world's largest tech & AI startup investor. With such endeavours, we always aim at being ahead of the innovations by preparing our students, alumni and collaborators to succeed in the global market and granting them access to world-class networks and business channels.
