Musixen Took First Place at EWC Turkey National Final

Entrepreneurship World Cup Turkey National Final was held under the Administrative Management of Habitat Association and National Organization of GEN Turkey. This year, the National Finalists had the opportunity to benefit from the surprise awards with the support of the sponsors. If the enterprises qualify for the EWC 100, they will represent Turkey globally.

This year, Entrepreneurship World Cup was held for the third time to reward and encourage enterprises in strategic partnership with the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), Global Education and Leadership Foundation and Misk Global Forum. By bringing enterprises in Turkey together with good examples from 180 countries of the Global Entrepreneurship Network; GEN Turkey is aiming to act as a bridge between the Turkish ecosystem and the global entrepreneurship ecosystem and it is responsible for the local organization of the competition in Turkey.

The Entrepreneurship World Cup is a program that helps entrepreneurs of all levels, from idea to scale-up stage, reach the next level in their journey. EWC gives entrepreneurs access to a global program in which they can meet with investors and benefit from opportunities such as online training, mentoring and prize money.

A total of 301 enterprises applied to EWC Turkey and 7 enterprises qualified for the EWC Turkey National Final. The EWC Turkey Final was broadcast live on GEN Turkey's Youtube channel on 13 July. In the national final, Nevzat Aydın, Ali Sabancı, Cem Sertoğlu, Hande Çilingir, Sencer Kutluğ, Ahu Serter and Gökçe Kabatepe took part as the jury, Musixen won first place, PulpoAR took second place, and Costifier won third place, while Bionova Biotechnology won the Entrepreneur Woman Special Jury Award.

This year, the National Finalists had the opportunity to benefit from the surprise awards. National Finalists were presented with financial awards of over 500,000 Turkish Lira and in-kind awards such as mentoring, one-year free membership in coworking space and cloud credits. While Coca-Cola, Google, Istanbul Portföy, Maçkolik, Trendyol, Yemeksepeti provided financial sponsorship for the national finalists; Facebook, Kolektif House and Oracle were also among the in-kind sponsors of EWC Turkey.

Musixen, which took first place in the EWC Turkey National Final, was awarded 200.000 Turkish Liras, a one-year free coworking membership from Kolektif House, mentorship and cloud credits of 6000 dollars from Oracle.

PulpoAR, which took second place in the EWC Turkey National Final, was awarded 120,000 Turkish Liras, mentorship and cloud credits of 4000 dollars from Oracle. Costifier which took third place in the EWC Turkey National Final, was awarded 80.000 Turkish Liras, mentorship and cloud credits of 2000 dollars from Oracle.

Bionova Biotechnology, which won the Entrepreneur Woman Special Jury Award, recieved 150.000 Turkish Liras, mentorship and cloud credits of 2000 dollars from Oracle.

Musixen: The Musixen platform helps musicians/artists to increase their earnings and individual brand awareness by offering them various options to generate revenue. It also allows venues to find and recruit new artists, perform virtual events and gain access to a global music audience. The Musixen platform creates a high-quality, interactive and enjoyable digital live performance experience for its users, allowing them to have direct interaction with their favourite artists and creates a social platform.

PulpoAr: PulpoAR is developing integrated augmented shopping technology and AR commerce platforms for retail. Users can try products virtually, this way physical testers are not needed anymore, preventing some health issues that spread with tester products, allowing new alternative points of sales by use of smart screens and reducing costs related to inventory. This way, PulpoAR helps companies to increase their customer satisfaction & engagement, while reducing costs and increasing conversion rates in multiple channels.

Costifier: Costifier is a cloud-based(SaaS) software that provides fast and accurate (>%90) cost estimations for the product to be manufactured by Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the manufacturing industry. The supply chain management version of Costifier also provides highly accurate (> 90%) and fast (1-2 seconds) supplier-specific should (target) cost estimation.

Bionova Biotechnology: Bionova aims to produce value-added products from industrial food waste. It will start with enzyme and bioethanol production and with its business growth, it will produce other valuable products that require a fermentation process. It will sell enzymes as a by-product and use them in its bioethanol production system as well. Industrial food waste causes global warming when it is disposed of to open lands. Bionova team sees food waste as a good source of valuable products.

National finalists have the opportunity to compete for a total of $1 million in cash prizes globally.
