Business Gateway is a publicly funded service contributing to the economic well-being of Scotland by providing access to free business support services.
During November, the Business Gateway network will be delivering 247 workshops across Scotland to provide information and training to start up and existing businesses.
Hugh Lightbody, Chief Officer of the Business Gateway National Unit says “Business Gateway is pleased to be supporting Global Entrepreneurship Week 2015 and helping Scottish entrepreneurs to ‘Make it Happen’. We see the campaign as a brilliant way to showcase the support that’s available across Scotland all year round.”
Business Gateway local offices give assistance and impartial advice to people starting or growing their business through:
- Online support, Business Gateway hosts a comprehensive website with practical information and useful guides for business owners.
- The My Business app which contains bite size guides and information to help your business grow.
- A programme of fully funded local workshops and events held throughout Scotland covering key business skills such as financial management, sales and marketing and e-commerce.
- 57 local offices, delivering advice to suit specific business needs through a network of experienced business advisers.
- Business information – a dedicated team providing information and support on all aspects of starting and growing a business.
In 2014 there were almost half a million visitors to the Business Gateway website viewing over 1.6 million pages. The free workshops and events programme saw 24,825 attendees at over 3,200 different training workshops providing valuable insights and practical advice for business people.
