Co-Creative Hackathon with Salford City Council

The Salford Inclusive Civic Co-Creative Hackathon is a one-day event where students, entrepreneurs and civic leaders collaborate to design practical solutions for inclusive self-employment and enterprise growth in Salford.

As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2025, Salford Business School will host a full-day co-creative hackathon bringing students, local entrepreneurs and Salford City Council together to tackle real barriers to self-employment. This landmark event creates a unique space for evidence-informed collaboration, where diverse student teams and community partners will co-design practical recommendations on pressing issues such as digital exclusion, female participation, gig-economy transitions and inclusive enterprise pathways.

By combining academic insight with lived experience, the hackathon aims to generate solutions that can directly influence local policy, strengthen enterprise support strategies and guide future university initiatives. In doing so, it not only builds skills and networks for participating students but also delivers meaningful outcomes for Salford’s communities, contributing to more inclusive and sustainable economic growth across the city.
