​Join us for the Greater Manchester Student Hackathon: Innovating for a Greener Future — a fast-paced, one-day challenge where creativity, collaboration, and sustainability meet.

​As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, this hackathon brings together students from The University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University to develop innovative ideas for a cleaner, greener, and more resilient Manchester.

​Whether you’re a problem-solver, designer, or changemaker, this is your chance to collaborate, create impact, and compete for exciting prizes — all while having fun and meeting like-minded innovators.

​ Date: Wednesday 19 November 2025
Location: Generator, Royal Mills, Ancoats
Transport: Coach pickup from Alliance Manchester Business School at 8:30am. Return journey departs Generator at 5:00pm.
Time: 8:30am – 5:00pm

Kick things off with quick activities to form teams and introduce the hackathon theme, rules, and judging criteria.

​10:00 – 12:00 | Hacking Session 1
Explore challenges, brainstorm ideas, and define your team’s focus area.

​12:00 – 12:30 | Lunch Break
Fuel up and chat with mentors and peers.

​12:30 – 14:30 | Hacking Session 2
Develop your idea using innovation and business tools, supported by facilitators.

​14:30 – 14:45 | Coffee Break

​14:45 – 16:00 | Pitch Preparation
Refine your solution and perfect your team pitch with expert support.

​16:00 – 17:00 | Team Presentations & Judging
Pitch your idea to our expert judging panel — winners announced at the end!
