Gosport is once again playing its part in helping make Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) the world’s largest campaign to promote entrepreneurship with Four FREE events being staged for would be entrepreneurs and small business owners.

Last year the town was recognised as a ‘High Impact Host’ by national organisers GEW UK and is now looking to build on the success that included supporting 14 new business ideas. 

GEW 2015 is held throughout the week 16-22 November during which time four FREE events aimed at supporting would be entrepreneurs and small business owners will be staged in Gosport.  The event is organised under the banner of ‘Enterprising Gosport’ by Gosport Borough Council, Enterprise First and Basepoint Gosport, and is supported by local professional service firms such as Brent King, Ray & Co, Agile Marketing Agency, and TaxAssist Gosport.

The ‘Enterprising Gosport’ events are:

Tues 17^th - Business Start-up Workshop 0930 - 1300hrs at Gosport Discovery Centre

For those who have not yet formally started their business.  It provides an introduction to writing a business plan, plus an opportunity to network with fellow entrepreneurs.

Weds 18^th - Meet the Local Expert 0900 - 1300hrs at Explosion!

This event is for those who have just started their business, or for a more established small business looking to grow or address barriers to growth.  The keynote speakers are from local professional service firms and owners of established businesses, who will be sharing their top ‘do’s and don’ts’ for starting and growing a business. 

Thurs 19^th - Gosport Informal Network (GIN) @ The Boat House 1000 - 1200hrs

The regular FREE business networking club for Gosport's business start-ups and small businesses created as a result of demand from attendees of the GEW 2014 events.

Fri 20^th - Introduction to Bookkeeping Workshop 0900 - 1200hrs at TaxAssist Gosport

With a friendly and hands-on approach, this workshop aims to help start-up and small business owners have a clearer understanding on how to manage their accounts.

Each year, it plays a critical role in encouraging the next generation of entrepreneurs to consider starting up their own business.
