XING: The Business Development Game

The session is open to UG and PG students and counts towards the Exeter Award. 

XING is team-based activity designed to develop your commercial awareness, product development, project planning and enterprise skills.  By playing the game you will see how to develop an idea into a specific goal and will map out your plan considering six areas; finance, people, strategy, actions, marketing and risk.

In this session, you will:

• Develop a start up idea.
• Develop your understanding of the main steps in business creation and development.
• Implement communication, collaboration and decision-making skills in a game format.
• Develop a skeleton of a business plan.
• Familiarise yourself with activities that might be used at an assessment centre.

At the end of the session, each team will pitch their business idea to the rest of the group, and an external panel of professionals.
