Carlos Alexandre da Costa
Special Secretary for Productivity, Employment and Competitiveness. Economist graduated from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), with a master’s degree and PhD (ABD) in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles. Former director of Planning, Credit and Technology at the Brazilian Development Bank – BNDES; president of the Performance and Leadership Institute; executive resident at JP Morgan and partner-director of Ibmec Educacional.
Fluent in English, French, Spanish and Italian. Also has extensive experience in the academic sector, having been a professor of Economics and Finance at Ibmec, UERJ and at the Brazilian Institute of Capital Markets, and developed research activities in several areas such as “Economy and Regulation”, “Foreign Investment”, “Sector Regulation” and “Macroeconomic Reforms”.
