PROFILE OF ADEWOLE TAIWO
Adewole Taiwo Adegboyega, Born on the 7th of October 1976, A holder of B.Sc (1999) and M.Sc (2004) in Geography and Environmental Resources Management respectively from the Lagos State University, Nigeria
He is the winner of the Rehab Plus Innovation, a United Kingdom International competition for Africa-2006, and selected among the “Top 100 of Our Generations’ in 2007.Top 40 under 40 in Africa, 2010 An independent environmentalist, Young prompter of sustainable environment and YVE technical Partner, 2014, ICON of excellence award National Association of Polytechnics Students Nigeria, he hosted the 2007 World Environment Day in Nigeria co-sponsored by the Lagos State Ministry of Environment.
One of the 115 Young Africa Leaders that met with the US president Barack Obama at the white house in Washington DC between August 3-5th 2010.
A renowned environmental consultant with several years of broad-range experience in the industry, he is presently the Chief Executive Officer of Taiwo Adewole and Associates Limited, an Environmental Sustainability Consultancy firm, Executive Director RecyclePoints Nigeria, Executive Director; Providence Recycling, Executive Director WasteAid Nigeria. Executive Director: Sustainable Waste Recycling Community of Nigeria. and a Consultant to Richflood International Limited, Executive Director with International Promotion of Youth LTD/GTE, Board Member Sterling One Foundation Beach Clean Up Steering Committee
In November 2007, Adewole worked as an online proposal reviewer for the North American Association for Environmental Education, Virginia Beach Convention Centre, United States of America. He organized the 1st Environmental Awareness Workshop on Pollution and Pipeline Vandalism for the Niger Delta stakeholders on July 2 and 3, 2009 in Delta State, in commemoration of the International Campaign against Climate Change. He also organized the First National Climate March in Nigeria in December 2007.
He has presented papers and submitted abstracts at international seminars, conferences and workshops. Some of the papers include: Effectiveness of waste water treatment in some selected industrial estate of Lagos State, a case study of Isolo industrial estate. This served as his M.Sc Waste Management thesis focused on the Sustainable Development in Lagos State, Nigeria. He also presented a paper at WAMASON/ISWA Summit held from April 21st -24th 2009 in Abuja.
