Ahmed Hamdan

A software engineer by education, Ahmed is passionate about solving business problems by making cloud communications accessible and affordable to the public regardless of technical background and abilities.

The story began in 2006, when Ahmed was working on his graduation project at King Fahd University and needed to send a group SMS to many people but back then mobile phones were limited to 50 recipients per message. Together with his younger brother, Hassan, they embarked on a journey to create a website that enabled SMS sending to many recipients at once with just a few clicks for a small fee. The project quickly evolved into a business marking the first chapter of an inspiring success story in the making, now known as Unifonic.

In 2013, Ahmed and Hassan were selected as High Impact Endeavor Entrepreneurs and as Unifonic gained more traction in the regional market, earning the trust of 5,000+ businesses, Unifonic had to scale-up operations to meet growing demands.

In 2018, Ahmed led Unifonic efforts to secure the funding necessary for scaling, and successfully raised the largest Series-A Round in the region at the time, with $21 Million from five major local investors.

This key milestone enabled Unifonic to venture into becoming a global pioneer for cloud communications in emerging markets around the world.
