Allan Okoth, is a Women Empowerment advocate possessing strong belief in “When She
rises, we all rise theme “and a “Mentorpreneur” who uses Wisdom gained from BEACON
INCLUSIVE startup success to bring Innovation and Inspiration to growing Entrepreneurs and
Organizations.
Like of International DJs like Avicii, Armin van Buuren and artists like Kanye West inspired him
to find purpose in life through House & Trance Music Djing. It was until 2017, when he was
diagnosed with partial hearing loss. Describing that time in his life as “distressful and lonely
“as he was isolated due to his condition. Not to be defined by his disability, he developed
Beacon Chat to solve some of his needs around communication and access to information.
Real life story of Alfred Weinrib, an 83-year cancer stricken deaf man, who died without
knowing his diagnosis after a hospital in the US failed to provide a sign language interpreter
for 7 months inspired him to pursue BEACON INC, a Technology Social Enterprise that
facilitates accessibility of health care for marginalized communities through Internet of Things.
Having empowered more than 1600 members of deaf community to access sexual and
reproductive health taking a People Powered Health Approach without the need of a sign
language interpreter during their pilot, He mentions “Beacon Inc has given me fulfillment and
reassurance that there is more to life in serving other people”
Allan lives in Nairobi, Kenya and enjoys hiking, interior design and reading books while
studying social psychology at the famous “Google University”
